Feedback
from a student having done KAAP, TFH & DK courses: Feedback
from Touch for Health students: I love
Christine's style of teaching and find application of the techniques easier
because of it. I enjoyed the course immensely. After I had
only completed half of my TFH studies, I experienced a severe stomach cramp one
night following an assortment of foods at tea time (you don't want to
know). I have not felt that upset in the stomach in a very long
time. The problem was I had left all my books etc at work so I was a bit
stumped and thought I would just have to ride it out - Tonic water has helped me
in the past and I considered going out specifically to buy some. Luckily I
remembered my Touch for Health Meridian Wall Chart and thought I would trace my
stomach meridian. I love that
all questions are answered and there is no question that is brushed aside or
disrespected. I feel safe
and comfortable within the class. Chris's guidance is supporting and
understanding, clear and directive. Well done!
Feedback
from Touch for Health Proficiency students: Lots of time to practise
& consolidate. Lots of extra little bits of information that help to
make more sense and make the balance technique more effective, flow smoothly and
enjoyable. Opportunity to practise
balances in a supportive and sensitive environment with constructive
and positive feedback and lots of encouragement.
Feedback
from Dynamic Kinesiology 1 students: To be able to put all the
information together and speed balance process up. All the information was
just great. The use of different teaching
methods to accommodate people - good use of written, oral and hands on
techniques. I can see the potential for
incorporating my existing skills in Naturopathy and Nutrition combined with DK
to allow for a more precise and quicker/more effective treatment. Dynamic Kinesiology 1 has / is
helping me in my life in many ways. The Dynamic Kinesiology course has in
four very special days given me a huge understanding of the potential to achieve
amazing changes right now and into the future. My family has lots of
challenges as all families do only the difference for us is we have a special
person who is my daughter Toni. she has lots of abilities and some big
disabilities. When Toni was 3 she had a stroke paralyzing her left side by
about 80%. This was caused by an inoperable cancerous brain tumor the size
of a golf ball. Over the years this has had its challenges and as
kinesiology works on a triad of health so does our lives. In the 3
months I have been studying Touch for Health and Dynamic Kinesiology, I have
achieved feats I never thought possible. I have faced many crisis's and
challenges. I have managed through grief that without Kinesiology I am
sure I would not have left the house for weeks. I am bonding in a new way
with my child, I realise I am not a failure as a mother and I have the tools to
empower him with healing that will change his life and let him reach his full
potential. As a mother this is all I want for my child. I am now a more
confident person. This helped to answer some of
the questions that had been coming up for me in practice eg shorter approaches,
cross-referring etc as I was looking for a way to use menus more creatively. I
am looking forward to DK 2. The flow of the balance,
stacking, having extra modes to work with. I feel more confident and have
a much better understanding of the way kinesiology works. I love the fact that the
information & knowledge I have gained on this course allows me to acquire
more information during a balance and go in on a deeper level - quite often in
less time than I would have taken with my previous learning - extra modes,
stacking & cross refer = awesome! Loved how much easier and
deeper a balance can be. I am excited again in relation to
kinesiology. I was getting very frustrated as I knew there must be easier
and more effective and efficient ways to do things. The balances are so
fast and effective I can hardly believe it myself. I wish I had started
studying with this modality.
Feedback
from Dynamic Kinesiology 2 students: I found the
primitive, in between and postural reflexes and their associated behaviours the
most useful. Thanks Chris, another great course. Great- I
especially loved the dynamic side of getting things on line easily and then
start the healing process. Loved all of
it - but of the most important to me was the background knowledge and deeper
understanding to be able to link up and build the bigger picture out of the
jigsaw of pieces. Fantastic,
above what I thought we would do. Loved the
primitive reflexes and the information about learning problems and how to work
with them. I enjoyed the course and all the courses I've studied are
starting to come together - thank you so much for that. Feedback from DK 2
Proficiency: Feedback from the 3-day 'Kinesiology: An Application for Professionals' course: During
the KAAP course I used my mother as a client for several case studies. We
started with ‘that fish slapping, witchcraft stuff doesn’t work’,
despite balancing her crippling fear of spiders and bugs, bad headaches,
fatigue and an inability to sleep at night. She still wasn’t convinced that
Kinesiology worked. Mum had been having trouble with back pain; due to an
extra vertebrae in her back, and wearing high heels at work for extended
periods. She had been to several therapists including physio’s, massage
therapists, and tried medications for pain. We decided to work on balancing
her back problem and poor sleeping habits. The next day she felt so fantastic
that she wore heels to work—first time in 18months, “No pain” She
excitedly announced. Her back behaved itself for about 12 weeks after that
balance, and while she still has occasional problems/pain, She will ask ‘Please
can you do Kinesiology on me’. Her sleeping has improved too. I cannot speak highly enough how “in tune” I feel with understanding and being more aware of the patients I look after since having done the course. I was always caring and spent time trying to calm their stress level, but now I feel like I’ve just gone up a notch and feel more focused and clicked into their emotional state. Boy is it so much more rewarding for me too! Before I noticed I was a bit shy to try different things for calming my patients – NOW I just get in there and feel more confident (probably because I understand the reasons for what I am doing) and I know its working. My work colleagues are also
benefiting and this is making us all much closer and subsequently allowing a
better working environment for all. I
seem to notice now when someone has a headache or sore back or feeling sad or
stressed and I say I can help you. Just
the feel of touch shows you care and will give a feeling of health and
well-being which is what the aim of kinesiology is. The
following are various comments from nurses, counsellors and other professionals
who attended this course at the Royal Adelaide Hospital through the staff
development training: Great learning environment!!! Really recommend to anyone & everyone. This course opened my eyes to understand Kinesiology, a very interesting complementary therapy!!! Wonderful course - very enjoyable!! A clear, well structured course with hight standards. Very pleasant, approachable. Excellent instructions, simple, step by step approach. Helped often and consistently in a non threatening atmosphere. Natural techniques to help in everyday living. Great instructions. Enjoyed this course immensely. Well done! Keep up the good work!
Testimonials
from clients: Not
only have we seen remarkable developments with our daughter, my husband also
went to Christine, and after having taken Zantac twice a day every day for 10
years, he now never needs it! Not only a fantastic improvement for his health,
but great for our finances!!! And
then there is my beautiful 6 year old son! Any parent who has to speak with
their child’s teacher every day about their child’s behaviour will
understand where I am coming from! When our son was little, we put his behaviour
down to having a mischievous spirit, however when he reached school and was
continuously sitting in the time out seat, or missing out on lunch play, we
decided it was time to see Christine! He not only suffered terribly from a
non-existent concentration span, unable to focus long enough to learn to read
basic words such as ‘so’ or even ‘the’, but also had no capacity to
reason. When he had a plan or idea in his mind, there was no stopping it. No
amount of bribery, threats or punishments could stop him when he had his mind
set. It often made home life as well as school life very difficult! And
then there was bedtime!! He could have been out bike riding or swimming all day
and be absolutely exhausted, yet when it cam to bed time, he somehow could not
stay in bed. It didn’t matter what tactic we tried, we could not get him to
stay in bed, and it took until he was too tired to even stand up that he would
eventually fall asleep. Not
only has home life been trying most of the time, but it was becoming
heartbreaking to see him struggling with his school work and becoming ‘The
naughty boy in school’. Considering
that we only started seeing Christine in late March of this year (2008), we have
now (14/5/08) had 3 weeks of ‘perfect’ behaviour at school. He has not been
to the time out seat once; he has been to the ‘treasure box’ (Class
Rewards!) several times, and even got 10/10 for a math test and 7/7 for a
spelling test this week. We no longer have to spend an hour after school doing
extra homework with him, he is managing to complete all set work in class, and
is starting to read! Probably the best thing at home has been bed time,
the last 4 nights he has gone to bed and within 15 minutes he is asleep, (not 2
hours like previously!) and he is delightful! We can talk to him; we can reason
with him, he hasn’t thrown a tantrum in 4 weeks!! Hooray! He is like a
different boy, and thankfully it is not only us as his parents and family that
have noticed. His parents cannot believe the changes they are seeing. (I think I
may have changed their opinions about Kinesiology!) I
personally cannot thank Christine enough for the help she has given to my
daughter, son and husband. The entire dynamics of our family has changed over
the years through the difference that kinesiology has made for each person in my
family. The only problem is that now I have to find a reason for my other
daughter to go to Christine, she thinks it is unfair that her siblings have
their brains and bodies ‘unscrambled’, she wants her turn!!
Child, aged 3 1/2, diagnosed with Autism, presented with the following symptoms: No eye contact Mainly non verbal communications Not toilet trained Lining up objects Needed a lot of deep touch ie wanting to burrow his head into mum's tummy Lots of ear pulling & biting Disturbed sleep - wakes then needs to cuddle in with mum Loose bowel movements Limited diet - fussy eater Severely affected by loud noise and lots of people/strange places Difficult coping with change Up to that time had lots of ear infections (15-20) - lots of antibiotics Congested chest Had two sets of tubes; and adenoids removed Had been diagnosed with mild autism. Following
is a testimonial from the child’s mother 16 months after his treatment began: My son has been fully toilet trained, day and night, for quite a while now. His verbal skills are constantly improving. We now have conversations with him and the problem now is getting him to be quiet. His eye contact too has dramatically improved. We don't have any tantrums and he is happy to go along with the flow of our hectic family life. His health has been fantastic with only the slightest snuffly nose whereas a year ago he was constantly unwell. He
sleeps well and has a very happy social life.
No-one would know he was diagnosed with autism.
Maybe just a speech delay. He
is a beautiful boy with huge potential. I
feel that I now have my son back with me in my world.
I had been experiencing the occasional dizzy spell for a few months on and off for about 9 months and not really taking too much notice. That was up until Christmas of last year when “a spell” hit which lasted for about 5 mins. Aside from the time difference between this and the previous occasions, this particular episode involved more than dizziness. I was extremely light-headed, so much so that I thought I was actually floating away! I also had lost feeling in my fingers and toes, experienced shortness of breath and heart palpitations and I remember thinking, ‘this is what it must be what it feels like when you’re dying’. Extremely frightened, I tossed up between calling an ambulance and decided instead to go to bed and if something happens then something happens. It was after this that I finally decided to do something about it. I started of seeing my regular doctor who ordered all types of blood tests which showed nothing. In the meantime, I was experiencing these episodes, while not as severely, on a daily basis, sometimes up to 10 times a day. I couldn’t function at work properly, couldn’t socialise and had to stop on the spot when an episode occurred to stop me from falling over. When I saw my doctor again to get the results my pulse was taken and it revealed an irregularity. After an ECG and other tests I was referred to a Cardiologist and diagnosed as having Sinus Tachycardia and put onto medication. The episodes began to subside until I was at work one day and began having enormous trouble breathing. I was taken by ambulance to Flinders Emergency and told to lower the dosage of the medication. Two days later my breathing still hadn’t settled so off I went to my local doctor and again rushed up to the Emergency Dept at Lyell McEwin. I had tests for fluid on the lungs and all sorts, with the verdict being a reaction to the medication. The result of coming off the medication, however, meant that the symptoms returned. I’d decided that I just couldn’t handle it anymore, and I knew that my sister had seen Chris Ammann previously and had raved about her. Ordinarily I wouldn’t think of going to any sort of alternative therapy, but I’d come to the end of the line and was desperate. At
the end of the first session with Chris I could notice a huge difference.
For the first time in almost a year, my head felt like it was sitting on
my body properly and that my body was working together instead of against
itself. I saw her for a follow up
session and have not needed to return as my symptoms have completely stopped.
While the condition of Tachycardia is still there, there are no more
debilitating symptoms that accompany it. I
have since encouraged family and friends to consider kinesiology and Chris
Ammann. I know that if my symptoms
return my first port of call will be Chris!!
After returning from South America in Nov 2000, in the weeks before Christmas,
I was feeling very nauseated. For a while I dealt with this by eating more and
often, as this seemed to quell the unpleasant feeling. It was worse in the morning
and around late afternoon. After a short time I was extremely distressed by the medication (Losec), prescribed by the specialist and reverted back to taking Zantac 2x a day. On reflection, I felt better, but not exactly fine, or as before. In Feb I began seeing Chris Ammann, initially with some Bowen treatment, which certainly gave me a more toned-up feeling. The great thing about this type of care is that I was or am able to work on myself on the fascial tissue. From mid-Feb, the end of May, I had 5 sessions. In July Chris suggested that I try Kinesiology for a more holistic approach. I had a 1 hour session that month, two in Oct, one in Nov, Dec, Jan and February by which time I was completely weaned off the medication. So from tablets 2x a day, during that period, we gradually reduced the dosage and in February I was feeling great without them. As well as these consultations with Chris, I do Bowen on myself 2x a day. Since then I have been seeing Chris very occasionally for "tune ups" to keep me in top shape. There were also some other "positive side effects" - such as my gums stopped bleeding, I feel mentally more alert and full of energy. I am most impressed as I was told by the specialist that I would have to remain
on Zantac or have surgery!!! My eight year old daughter, Samantha, had been suffering a persistent and uncomfortable
skin infection for nearly a year and we had both had enough. The doctor had
said that there was nothing that he could do and that I could expect it to last
for up to 3 years. I had taken her to a naturopathic skin specialist who had
helped to make it more comfortable but had been unable to stop it spreading
or reduce it.
The skills learnt during my kinesiology study are both profound and far reaching. They
provide great insight into the way our body and brain react and cope with the
stresses and strains of life. |
